Organizing The Home:
An
introduction in to the Happy Home Series
When you go to get your home organized and clean and are starting from scratch there are a
few ways you can go about it. Because I work so many days a week and we do live
in an RV park so ordering in all of the things that I am going to need would
take up most of the trailer itself, I am going to be going through the house
and clearing out what can go and slowly organizing the house. (One portion at a
time.) It will take me a total of 2 months, and I will also be doing my car. If
you have a large home it could take longer, depending on the time and money
that you are willing to put forward. (I am more than happy to help you come up
with a list of supplies, a plan of action, and a schedule to keep it organized
for FREE!)
Week 1: I am going through all of my papers that I have; receipts,
bills, checks, etc. My purse, my car, and my laptop bag. I will sit down every
Saturday night after work, go through the designated section, and write down
what I need. Then I will either go to the store and purchase them, or order the
needed essentials. Then the following week I will put it all together and post
the before and after update.
Week 2: I am going to get everything for the bathroom ordered. This is
really just a lot of decorative storage (for cotton balls and swabs) and makeup
storage (I need a brush bag. I am tired of digging through my bag trying to
find brushes!) and some other small items for storage under the sink and also
in the medicine cabinet!
Week 3: Bedroom, Kitchen Island, and the misc. kitchen cabinets and
drawers. This may seem like a ton but we don’t need too much in the bedroom,
the kitchen island doesn’t have too much to it either. This will cost a little
more because there isn’t any sort of organization to these areas just as of
yet. But soon enough it will be spotless!
Week 4: Pantry and drawers. In our kitchen we have a pantry type area
and below it there are 3 drawers. This one will also cost quite a bit to do.
Which, isn’t something I want to admit to but I know that once its all done its
all done. Which is why I am okay with spending more money, also I have been
saving for a few months in preparation for this!
Week 5: Fridge and Freezer. This will also include Tupperware’s as
needed. I am wanting to get glass ones because of BPA and such!
Week 6: The cabinets that we have at the top of the stairs.
Week 7: T.V. area and the office supplies including my scrapbooking box.
This is simply my plan of action. I am happy to help you build yours. I will
post before and after pictures along with how much everything cost total. Thank
you for reading!
